I am a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, having qualified in 1992, being admitted as a fellow in 2001. I am also a Member of the Association of Accounting Technicians and a Practising Associate of the Academy of Experts. I have also completed the ACCA 2021 Certificate in Business Valuations.
I have been involved in the assessment of losses for both Claimants and Defendants which have included individuals, insurance companies, a national union and health authorities.
I have been trained in Civil Procedure rules and have prepared expert reports for the Court (party appointed and single joint expert reports) since April 1999. Types of cases include clinical negligence, professional negligence, fatal accidents, claims of the utmost severity, RTA’s, and industrial disease claims. I have also prepared reports to be used in CICA and employment tribunals.
In addition I have been involved in the preparation of reports in fraud investigations and proceeds of crime matters and matrimonial and commercial disputes. I also undertake business valuations.
In respect of general practice, I am responsible for the completion and submission of financial statements for a wide range of companies, from small owner-managed businesses to companies with multimillion £ turnover, and for reviewing and supervising the work of junior staff. I am also involved in tax compliance and tax investigations and dealing with HMRC in this respect. I also assist solicitors with probate work and OPG work.
My portfolio includes dentists, locum opticians, veterinary locums, barristers, retail businesses, business start-ups and various types of owner-managed businesses.
